2. Farrah, if you read the blogs about your current health, be assured that we are all so very sorry to hear of the cancer's return. I recently had a lung cancer scare, myself, though I've never smoked. Further x-rays showed I didn't have cancer after all, but the experience forced me to think what I would have done had it turned out that I did have cancer. I decided that I would try getting anti-angiogenesis shots to destroy the cancer's blood supply. That would kill it and all of its metastases without any side effects to me. You can read about this perfectly legitimate treatment in the book, “Dr. Folkman's War.”

I would also have contacted the doctors at the Life Extension Foundation (lef.org) to get the very best cutting-edge complementary medical help. I would have wanted that because biting the dust, as we Texans say, will not be on my agenda any time within the next 60 years or so.

I believe conventional chemotherapy and radiation are a good way to die from the treatment or to set yourself up for a return engagement, as you have recently discovered. I would never have sought that type of treatment.

Cancer is a preventable disease and curable if approached correctly. Farrah, you're a native Texan, therefore, by traditional definition a lady of rare courage. Use that inborn capacity for courage to take the path less traveled to survive this cancer and be even stronger in years to come.

I see the large Christian cross on the front of your shirt and hope it means that you are a fellow believer. 3. Dear Farrah: I hope it's not true that the cancer has reoccurred! I am currently watching my sister battle cervical cancer that was diagnosed 9-06, treated, and she was told she was cancer free 1-07; during the end of 2-07 and during 3-07 she began having unbearable pain in the lower abdomen area and after 3 exploratory surgeries and much pain they discovered that the cancer had returned and spread. She has been battling with chemotherapy and medication, etc...(she already had the liftime max of radication during the first treatments) and to no avail, it does not seem to be working, but they have started her on a new treatment: Gem Zar--I wonder if you have been treated with this or in combination? I hope that you are believing that you can beat this cancer. I think of you and wonder how you are doing. Best wishes to you and your family during the very, very hard time in your life.

I am so very sorry to hear that your cancer has come back, but I know that you are a strong woman and will beat this thing again. You are a survivor. I am a colon cancer survivor as well. Two years ago, I had to have anterior colon resection surgery for Stage Two colon cancer. I survived the surgery, but a severe E. coli infection and many, many complications almost did me in. I was in hospital for a total of five weeks. I am lucky to be here today. The support of many friends, family and loved ones, and my faith, pulled me through. Know that you also have a lot of support and prayers with you now to give you new strength in your current battle.

8. Dearest Farrah,
My prayers and thoughts are with you as you continue on this unplanned journey. I too was diagnosed with cancer in 1996 and began the fight of my life at age 53 of breast cancer. This is not only a physical battle as you know, but an emotional battle as well. It is a journey that we basically travel alone even if someone is with us. I felt at times that I was lost in a forest and no way to escape this monster called cancer.
Without God and my complete surrender to Him, I couldn't have dealt with the emotional aspects of the cancer. I'm here to tell you Farrah to just lean on God. He is our answer for everything. Read the scriptures as they will give you strength and claim God's promises in the Bible for yourself. Listen to Christian music when you are too anxious to pray. God delivered me from all my fears when I completely turned it all over to Him.
Now I am using my experience (with the love that God has given me) to help other cancer patients at MD Anderson Cancer Hospital in Houston. My cancer experience has truly become a blessing as I give others comfort and love as they continue their battle. How would I understand what they are going thru had I not been there myself?
Farrah, we don't always understand why things happen in life, but I'm convinced that there is always a reason. I've learned that in this life that we are just passing thru. If we keep our focus on God and our eternal home that is in Heaven, we can have peace knowing that as a Christian we have eternal life and will never die. Things that I thought were important before have moved down the line of importance.
Farrah, I also have a son that was on drugs when he was younger and I understand also what you are going through. My son has now given his life to the Lord and God delivered him from that. I believe that there is no greater pain then seeing your child go through that and you can't "save" them. Just keep praying for him as I know you are, because maybe Redmond will turn his life over to the Lord. There is hope! God is in the business of miracles.
God bless you Farrah and I will be praying for you and your son. Just remember that your Heavenly Father understands and cares for everything concerning you. You are His child and He calls you by name. He will give you peace.

9. I too have anal cancer, so if Farrah has it I really feel for her. My cancer also came back following radiation and chemotherapy so surgery was the only option I had. Now some 18 months later my cancer has returned, this time in my urethra at the base of my penis...not a good spot to get it. I'm currently undergoing chemotherapy for the third time. 10. Dear Farrah,
I Wish you well. I was diagonosed with anal cancer,
June 2006. I had radiation and chemo. I did have to have a colostomy. I am 58 years old, alone. I lost my job and insurance. Every two months I take a blood test. So far so good. I live with the emotional ups and downs. I know God is watching over us.

I wish you the best, and know you'll be relentless and successful in this fight. I'm 60, and I,too, have anal cancer. Diagnosis was 2003, and I've been in treatment - aggressive radiation and chemo-therapies, surgeries galore, radiation implant, everything!
Havin' done exhaustive research, I've not found anyone at all having this same experience. I was advised I'd not make it to February 2004. Were it not for the love and care of my family and friends, my doctors, and a whole lot of prayer and encouragement I surely wouldn't be here and doin' so well.
I've heard "no evidence of disease" only to find it back again soon thereafter. Anal cancer is rare, I'm told. Our love and best to you and yours, our hopes that you'll all stay strong, fight hard and beat this evil, unpredictable thing.
